Student Volunteer Opportunities

The Alexandria Children’s Chorus is seeking enthusiastic student volunteers (grades 9 and up) to support our choirs and programs. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in music education, arts administration, and youth mentorship.

Times

Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Alexandria 

  • Prelude Chorus (K): 5:15–6:00 pm
  • Training Chorus (Grades 1–2): 5:30–6:30 pm
  • Concert Chorus (Grades 3–6): 5:30–6:45 pm

Duties

Assist during rehearsals and performances (help students with music, sing along, lead warm-ups or stretches)

  • Have basic music reading and singing skills
  • Work well on a team and enjoy working with children

OR

Create social media content

  • Following a content calendar and drafting posts/reels for Facebook and Instagram

OR

Assist with administrative tasks or usher at concerts

Details

This opportunity is unpaid but qualifies toward volunteer hour requirements, given our 501(c)(3) charitable organization status

Volunteers who complete the semester will be provided a reference letter upon request

Hourly commitment would not exceed two hours a week, with occasional performances that last an additional one to two hours.
