Jacquelynne Fontaine, Conductor

… is absolutely thrilled to direct choruses of the Alexandria Children’s Chorus. Jacque (“Jackie”) pursued doctoral studies at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, with a Music Education emphasis. She received her Masters in Music, also from Thornton SoM, and Bachelor of Arts in Music from Cal Lutheran University. While at USC, Jacque taught general music to third through fifth graders as part of the Thornton Outreach program, and had a choir of second through fifth graders at St. Agnes School. For the last 12 years, Jacque has pursued a stage career in both opera and musical theater, notably as Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera National Tour for three years and over one thousand performances. She even played the Kennedy Center for two months! Her private vocal studio includes professional singers to first timers. This last year, she, like most of the world, pivoted, and became an Audio Editor and Project Manager for Arts Laureate, where she met her fiancé, Brian Isaac, Artistic Director for the Alexandria Choral Society (Kinderchoir’s sister organization). They live with their 14 year old orange cat, Gatsby, and 14 year old blind and deaf pup, Cosmo. When not making music, Jacque loves to camp, code, and cycle! Oh, and more than a few years back she was Miss California. Her favorite part of the job was meeting and talking with kids throughout the state in assemblies and classroom visits!
